Grand Rapids, MI –Former Raider Shooting Guard
Jared Mysliwiec is headed to Elmhurst College in Illinois. Elmhurst College participates in NCAA Division III and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin where they have won conference championships in five sports over the last decade.
The Elmhurst College Blue Jays basketball team went 12-13 in the 2011-2012 season and were seeking a replacement for senior All-Conference Guard Zack Boyd, who led the team this season.
Mysliwiec looks to fit in well as a scoring guard to replace the 13.2 points per game lost from the departure of Boyd.
After his playing days at Wyoming Tri-unity Christian High School,
Mysliwiec enrolled at Hope College. As a freshman he averaged 6.7 points per game while playing 13.1 minutes per game. After transferring to GRCC and suiting up as a Raider,
Mysliwiec was no stranger to filling up the stat sheet. He averaged 13.2 points per game and also shot a cool 34% from behind the 3pt line.
Throughout the 2011-2012 season,
Mysliwiec had lots of standout individual performances. In an early season match-up with the Kalamazoo Valley CC Cougars, he scored a then season high of 20 points. He also had other dominating offensive performances such as when he scored 23 points against Muskegon CC, 33 against Ancilla College, 27 points in the rematch with Kalamazoo Valley CC, 30 points in the rematch versus Muskegon CC, and 27 points against South Mountain CC. The efficient scoring contributed greatly to GRCC’s District 8 Championship and appearance in the NJCAA DII National Tournament.
Jared’s talent will serve Elmhurst well as they look to improve from the 2011-12 season and get back to their winning ways.
